III Symposium – December 5th and 6th 2003

The most complex cases of angioplasty, special care in diabetic patients and the so polemic (by that time) use of pharmacology stents were some of the themes discussed on the III, on the International Symposium of Invasive Cardiology for Practitioners December 5th and 6th 2003.

Many live cases were presented, including a multivessel coronary intervention in a diabetic patient.

Highlights for the participation of the faculties: Eulógio Garcia, Spain; Ivan de Schreder, Belgium and Jonathan Tobis, USA.

This edition of the symposium also marked the opening of Francisco Constantino Foundation, created to give assistance to patients that don’t have financial conditions to pay for the treatment of cardiovascular disease; and also to actuate on education and research areas. In 2004, the foundation also assumed the compromise of organizing the symposium, with Hospital Cardiológico Costantini’s support.
