Curitiba, capital of Paraná State is a diversified city,
strongly influenced by immigrants. The architecture, gastronomy
and local culture have strong characters of its descendents, especially
Italians, Germans, Polishes and Ukrainians.
Known as the Brazilian Ecological Capital, Curitiba has 26 parks
and about 81 millions square meters of preserved green areas.
It is the only Brazilian City entering the century 21 as a national
and international urban planning reference, proved by the transportation
system and organized traffic.
Besides the tourist options in the city, there are very interesting
attractive no further than 200km away, as Serra do Mar (Sea Range),
Litoral (beaches), Ilha do Mel (Honey Island), Vila Velha (Ponta
Grossa), etc.
The weather aspect – much colder than the rest of the
country - makes Curitiba a different town in Brazil. The winter
cold and pleasure temperature on summer attract many tourists
to the capital and the coast.
The cultural options, of leisure and nightlife have also shown
an impressive growth, making Curitiba the ideal place for events
and visitors in general. The Constantini Hospital and Foundation,
headquarters of the event, are near Parque Barigui, one of the
busiest in town. The park is 1,4 million square meters and its
flora, fauna leisure options and entertaining are very rich.
Park Barigui has gym equipments, barbecues, bars, restaurants,
sport fields quiosques, museum, an exhibit train, amusement park,
and a 400.000 square meters lake.
Close to the park is Santa Felicidade, a traditional Gastronomic
neighborhood. The large amount of restaurants there, offers, besides
a delicious house wine, typical dishes as risotto, polenta, lasagna,
nhoque, pasta and chicken.
To complete this attraction, there are the vineyards and wine
cantinas, souvenir stores and vime furniture, representing the
Italian culture value. If you prefer, Santa Felicidade also has
many “Churrascarias”.
